Specialised memory care
Our commitment to specialised memory care at Hawkesbury Living has been longstanding and part of our ongoing plan to address the issue of dementia in the community.
There are almost 280,000 Australians living with dementia, with that number expected to rise to almost 1 million by 2050.
It is estimated that the total cost of replacing all family care with paid care is estimated at $5.5 billion per annum (1). The Government has made the support and care of people suffering from dementia a national health priority. A community needs assessment was undertaken as part of Hawkesbury Living’s master plan that addresses the need of dementia care in the Hawkesbury.
